I began archery around 2005 as a means to extend the Maryland hunting season and open up new hunting areas that were restricted to firearms. At that time I was using a 1983 Bear Whitetail II that was given to me. The draw was too long and it was right-handed, but it worked.

Six deer fell to the old Bear that year and I was hooked.

That spring I purchased a left handed bow second hand from a dealer and joined Tuscarora Archers, a local archery club. As fate would have it there were a number of Professional Archers for various manufacturers that belonged to the club. Through them, I learned the sport of archery from the ground up. Everything from stance, shot sequence, shot execution, release activation, holding drills and the list goes on. The Lancaster Archery Classic in 2006 was my first ever “Big” tournament. I remember sitting there in awe watching the top archers in the World at that time show me how it was done. I took notes, literally.

Shortly thereafter my archery career took a six-year break to fulfill Military obligations for my Country (active U.S. Army since 1998). It wasn’t until 2012 that my archery career resumed, but in the state of Texas. For three years I crisscrossed the Texas landscape re-kindling the fire of tournament archery that had all but been extinguished. The victories came first at local venues, then State, then Sectional and finally competing at National level events. In 2014 while watching the Lancaster Archery Classic shoot up I saw my first OK Archery bow. It looked like nothing I had ever seen before! I had to try one! A couple weeks later in Las Vegas at the World Archery Festival OK Pro Staff Member Jack Moulton let me shoot a few arrows through his OK Archery bow. I couldn’t believe how well it drew, how well it held and how there was no shock on the shot. Now I had to have one! Six weeks later I did.

What is it about the OK brand that draws me to it? I truly feel that the engineering behind the bow gives OK Archery a mechanical advantage over any other bow out there. I genuinely have never had a bow that performs as well as an OK.

The float pattern is absolutely amazing — partly, I feel, due to the symmetrical riser design. This float pattern is essential in assisting me in achieving my goals. I don’t shoot for a preconceived score or end result. I look to shoot each shot to its full potential by embracing the float and pulling through, focusing on proper execution. On the firing line with an OK in my hand, I strongly feel that there is nothing that can be deemed unobtainable.
